Titanium Scales for Spyderco Manix 2 - AB (Aluminum Blast) - Linerless mod
Made out of grade 5 titanium. The handle offers an excellent combination of high strength and toughness over the stock G10. The scales are machined with lots of attention to details with hard edges chamfered and hand-sanded for a smooth finish before blasting. The scales weigh about 4.5 oz with the knife.
- Not compatible with Manix 2 LW.
- These scales are made to replace the steel liners and stock g10 scales.
- Lightly brushed with aluminum blasted textured.
- Check if the pivot bushing fits both scales. Note that one side of the pivot bushing has a flat end and can only fit into one of the scales.
- Install the side of the pivot bushing with the flat end first.
- The stock lanyard tube should hand press snugly into the scales. If the tube is larger than the scale lanyard hole, use a flat part of pliers if possible and press very lightly around the end of the tube. Check fitment frequently for a snug fit. You do not want the tube to fit loosely causing it to rattle.
All blasted scales are finished with oil-based PTFE to help reduce fingerprints and scratches.
Made out of grade 5 titanium, knife and hardware not included. Please allow 3-5 business days to process. Please message me for left-hand carry.
The fitment was on point and I love the texture and contour. These are my second set of scales from you guys. The first set being for my paramilitary 2 which were also amazing. Plan on getting more scales from y’all in the future for sure!
I tried a set of aluminum scales from another company but was not happy with the look. These titanium scales really elevate the look and feel of my Manix 2. Highly recommended
Transformed my Manix 2. Well designed, feels better in the hand than the stock G10 scales. Good grip without being a pocket shredder. No blade wobble and it drops shut.
I’m usually not the kind of guy that’ll leave a review, that being said, I spent good money on these and I think people should hear a relatively unbiased opinion, j have no brand loyalty, I’ve owned benchmade, spydercos Crkt, Civivi and all sorts of other stuff, if it’s fun and works then cool, don’t care if it’s a collectors item. That being said these scales went on my Manix two. And they weren’t cheap. I first got the titanium cage and a deep carry clip. So if you don’t have a titanium cage some of this may not apply. I had the cage in and I had severe lock stick. My fingers are not weak. I play guitar and I did martial arts for years. I was able to close the knife but it was nothing short of painful after a few dozen times. I have callouses like you would not believe and this was still the case. I might’ve recieved a cage that just wasn’t quite up to snuff, however when I put the scales on, the lock stick disappeared about 90% and it’s all gone now after a week or two. That being said, the finish on the scales is fairly gritty against the titanium cage. And the tolerances aren’t as tight as I’d like them to be to the cage does have a little play, it doesn’t rattle but I can push it from side to side a bit. So all said and done, they’re great scales. Maybe they could be remachined post sand blast or whatever the finish type is in the area with moving parts. That would allow for tighter tolerances and a smoother action. Maybe it will wear in with time. Thank you for reading, tldr: not super slick, very expensive, but solved some problems I had and I definitely like how they feel.
Looking at grabbing another soon.
