Titanium Scales for Benchmade Bailout 537 - Lanyard Version - Right Hand Carry
Lanyard version requires RSD backspacer and will not work with the stock pommel.
This lightweight TI handle provides better rigidity compared to the stock handle. Due to the aggressive pocketing, the knife weighs under 3oz providing a good balance between weight and strength.
- If you plan to anodize this scale, you want the sandblasted version instead.
Made out of grade 5 titanium, knife and hardware not included. Please allow 3-5 business days to process. Please message me for left-hand carry.
Just put them on today and can’t put it down. Fit finish superb has a great in hand feel. Will definitely be back
It makes the knife much more rigid (no more flex in the scales) perfect fit and centering. Always amazed by the quality of RSD scales. They definitely make the knife 100% better. Super fast shipping as well. Buy them now.
Fit is exceptional, I like the finish as well.
Purchased the finger-grooved version with aluminum oxide, the finish results in the scales being darker and less smooth than the sandblast.
The first thing I noticed was how dry the finish felt in my hand, but after handling the scales / knife for a bit, my hand oils made it smoother and pleasant to hold. Second thing I noticed was the weight. The difference is significant enough in hand that it no longer feels like a lightweight knife and becomes medium-weight. It makes the Bailout feel higher quality and more substantial. If you really need a lightweight knife, the added weight may not be a good thing. It feels about the weight of a Kizer Feist, or Chris Reeve Sebenza 21; not as heavy as a Benchmade Anthem but not much lighter either. Perhaps my paracord and beads is skewing that perception, but it feels closer to the 3oz mark than not ... curious to know the precise final weight.
Lastly, I noticed the increased hand presence. The measured thickness is only slightly thicker, but it feels significantly thicker because the original scales slope towards the edge making them feel thinner in hand as the fingers curve around the grip. The titanium scales lack that slope, result in a thicker profile, which actually makes it feel more secure in hand. However, keep in mind to not over-tighten the screws that are along the edge of the scales. The increased thickness caused one of my screws to strip, because it couldn't get deep enough to securely grab the threads. But I just swapped positions on my screws (moved the edge stripped screw to the middle of the knife), and it all worked fine when I wasn't over-tightening. In that case, a bit of Loctite might help.
Ultimately anyone looking to take the Bailout to the next level of quality, they can see and feel, will enjoy these scales, Matt did a great job. I highly recommend them.
Great fit/finish as always. Customer service is exceptional. Highly recommend these products!
