OK, so I love the fact Rockscale is inovating titanium scales that make your 20.5 liner less but there is a few suggestions and improvements that could be made. One, the finish is rough and because of that the shark lock is "grindy" unless you sand down inside the scales and polish up the area where the shark lock slides. Second, the scales look AMAZING with the backspacer, and you basically have to buy it if you want everything to tie together. And here is where I had a massive issue, let me explain. The website doesn't mention ANYWHERE that the Sharksfoot blade aka Demkos take on the wharncliffe, will NOT fit with Rockscales backspacers. I bought the scales and backspacer and when I closed my blade I chipped a chunk out of my brand new $280 20cv blade. I guess I should of checked before flipping my knife closed but I assumed this all has been dumby checked and accounted for. I know Original Goats backspacer works with the Sharks Foot, so my logic was that Rockscale's would too (urghhh). This needs to be addressed and future buyers need to be warned none the less. I'm in the process of trying to return my system unfortunately for this very reason, but I'm still waiting to get a reply from their team in order to RMA. Communication and dialog sometimes takes several days it seems. At the end of the day, the scales are great but not perfect. I definitely appreciate what Rockscale is doing for the modding community, but I wish they would employ some slight changes. For one, I wish they offered a lighter beadblast finish, their version is VERY dark and does not match most aftermarket "blasted" parts. As I mentioned above, they need to pre-polish the shark lock region, their finish is like sandpaper and the lock kinda sucks with the scales on versus the glassy butter you have with OEM scales. Lastly, they need to make a backspacer that WORKS with EVERY blade variation. It's not hard to do - at all. You just need to remove 1/16" of material off the inner radias of the unit. And I think finally, they need to work on email replies. I usually have to wait 2+ days to get an email reply if I'm lucky. For these reasons I have to give them 3 stars for now. If they address some of these issues and listen to the community suggestions, I will change my rating to 5 stars and buy from them again. For now, I'm going to stick with my OEM scales or Goats.
