Titanium Scales for Demko AD20.5 - Liner Removed
The scales provide a thicker handle, larger forward finger choil, and a fully recessed lock grove. These adjustments are made for added comfort when handling, deploying and disengaging the shark lock. Due to the deep milling of the scales, the total weight of the knife is about 4.1oz.
Note:
- The updated version will expose the pivot and lock pin.
- Includes two stainless steel washers that needed to be placed between each scale and ball bearing washers (not between blade and ball bearing washers).
- Stop and lock pins have solid and line markings on each end. Placed the solid ends together on the right-hand pocket clip side of the scales first. es.
- Lightly brushed with aluminum blasted textured.
- knife and hardware not included.
- Not compatible with AD20.5 Ti & CF Version.
- These scales are made to replace the steel liners and stock grivory/G10 scales.
- All blasted scales are finished with oil-based PTFE to help reduce fingerprints and scratches.
- Made out of grade 5 titanium
- Please allow 3-5 business days to process.

Ordered the scales as upgrading my 20.5 s35vn, the g10 are excellent, but the knife cries out for better scales…..
Easy to fit and very well made….. makes the knife rise to a different class…
Buy them, you’ll not be dissapointed
I'd never had a Demko, so decided to try out the entry level model. Clearly, I wasn't expecting a high-end knife at this price point. That said, I was a bit disappointed when it arrived. The action and blade quality were totally acceptable and I immediately liked the Shark Lock, but the original Grivory scales/SS liners combo gave the knife a cheap feel. Sharp edges, really flat and flimsy feeling, plus a "tacked on" quality with the scales sort of floating/warping away from the liners. I have big hands and usually prefer knife handles closer to the 5" range, so the finger grooves also forced a tighter and less comfortable grip for me. I was aware of Rockscale's reputation for quality, and when I saw their Straight Handle and TI backspacer options, I knew I had to give them a try.
The knife is really transformed. It's still light weight, but feels MUCH more substantial. With the rounded edges, sand blast finish and straight front edge, it is much more grippy and fills my hand significantly better. Additionally, the orignal flimsy low-quality feel is completely gone. The action is the same or better and the sound of the rigid unlined scales has a solid "clack" without the plasticky reverberations. I'll state again, this upgrade totally transformed the knife. If you received your AD20.5 and were also a bit disappointed, DO NOT HESITATE to purchase the scales and backpacker combo.
Finally, shipping was quick, everything was packaged very well, fit was truly perfect and installation was very simple.
Thank you, Rockscale! You have a happy new customer!
Built my AD20.5 with Rockscale Ti Hexi scales turned out perfectly absolutely NO issues at all. The problem with many other custom scale companies is care obviously isn't taken ensuring the utmost accuracy regarding milling depths on particularly the pivot screw depths on either side but also on some spacer depths too. This effects blade centering, action & lock up. The Rockscale scales were 100% perfectly done, packaged perfectly & sent perfectly, in short Rockscale are bloody perfect recommended 200% in everyway!! I traded recently another of my knives (Custom Kunwu) for another AD20.5 with Original Goat scales on it, & after inspection its not even close, Rockscale scales are truly premium in all ways NOT just asthetics, because I don't care how good a knife looks, If the milling is off, or the coating around pivot collar is too thick on certain scales & so consequently the knife cannot center up, nor can it obtain a perfectly smooth & trustworthy action then whats the point of looking good?? If the bladed basics cannot be achieved then asthetics shouldn't even factor into it. Rockscale are the absolute top of the heap period!! Original goat? More like Original Turd!!
Here we are again with another great set of titanium skills. These fit flawlessly and I’m happy to say make the knife look even better. The quality of these scales really do make this knife, feel and act like a mid tech type of culinary cool. Also, I believe that any person owning a Demko knife should solely consider these scales because of the extra cut out for the shark lock to make this the most comfortable set of skills to use.
I have probably purchased over a dozen scale and backspacer kist from RSD in the last year to upgrade my Benchmades, Spydercos and Demkos. Every single one of them was a work of art and totally worth the price. Fit, finish, quality and wow factor are all reasons I keep coming back and will do so in the future. This latest upgrade to my Demko AD 20.5 really added to the knife's value and functionality.
